my story

I started Butchqueen BIllionaire to bring premium, strategic coaching to black gay men– a powerful, untapped demographic in the new economy. Research shows that black gay men hold untapped power in business. A serial entrepreneur, author, and Associate Professor of medicine, I’m also building a startup in the Artificial Intelligence space. Using research done as a student at Princeton, Harvard Medical School, Yale, and Cambridge, I am building a startup that I believe will change the world. Find a longer bio here.

And yet, as a black gay man, I see LARGE numbers of other black gay men doing big things. And we do this despite being at the intersection of two oppressed groups. This is why I love us. We punch well “above our weight” in terms of grit, creativity, degree attainment, entrepreneurship, communication, and organization skills. The black gay men that I know are frequently THE most successful in their families. Time and time again, I find this. What if we harnessed our power? What if black gay men focused on ourselves?

Butchqueen liberation

What if black gay men harnessed their economic power? Could an empowered, wealthier black gay community be better positioned to create our own separate communities? Could we harness black gay men’s unique creativity to help ignite a network of black gay men starting businesses and creating wealth during this moment in history? I’m tired of seeing black gay people treated so poorly. And yet, we are often among our communities' educated, creative, and most productive members. I think black gay men are uniquely positioned to become wealthy—- to create institutions and communities that meet our unique needs, and we should do it. I want us to focus on ourselves; this is the time.
